John A. Tuttle, Volunteer and Museum Staff

As a fourth generation Californian who has lived and traveled here all my life, I have a passion for exploring and learning about our state, and for sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm with others. I’ve visited the Museum many times over the years, but in mid-2007 I started volunteering in many capacities and found an institution whose collections, programs and concentration on California’s art, history and natural science perfectly matches my interests. My volunteering highlight was serving as an exhibit guide for Days of the Dead in 2007! I work part-time for the Membership Department and continue to volunteer in other capacities. I’m excited about the Museum’s renovation and expansion projects. I can’t wait until I can return to the velvet cushion in front of the antique horse-drawn fire engine and meditate on the past!
